Hold Zoom (right mouse by default) with the rail for 2x. At 1.00 the view moves across the screen at your normal speed; lower is steadier.
Choose a slot, then press a key. For a mouse button, click the highlighted slot. The scroll wheel is set below. Backspace clears a slot; Esc cancels.
